DURHAM, NC – The Central Carolina Football league is proud to announce the addition of the Carolina Cardinals to the CCFL for the upcoming 2025 season. The Cardinals are a veteran team that last played in 2024 CFA Spring.
The Cardinals have spent the last year regrouping after a semi final loss in their last spring season. They have been busy solidifying their organization and operations, preparing to join a league that best aligns with their vision. The entry into the Central Carolina Football League will see the Cardinals playing their home games at Campbell University in Buies Creek, NC and will join seven other new teams in the CCFL.
The Cardinals owner, James Barrett, said that the team spent a lot of time making sure that the franchise would provide a high-quality product for the Raleigh-Durham market.
"We worked very hard over the last several months to make sure we had the right people in place and that we had our operations in order, to ensure that we had a successful re-launch in 2025,” Barrett said. “We are looking forward to joining the CCFL, as our fans will get to enjoy great football against some of the most historic teams in this business.”
CCFL Commissioner Vernon Powell expressed that the CCFL is happy to be bringing the Cardinals to the league in 2025. The league has seen the addition of several teams since the end of the 2024 season.
